Tim has served as our Chief Medical Officer and Head of Development since April 2025. Prior to joining Contineum, he served in a variety of increasingly senior level positions with Gilead Sciences Inc. beginning in February 2015. Most recently, he served as a Vice President and Inflammation Therapeutic Area Head until April 2025. Prior to his time at Gilead, Dr. Watkins was an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Washington and an Affiliate, Research Institute, Bloodworks Northwest in Seattle, WA from 2010 to 2015. He holds a B.S. in Biology from Ohio University, an M.D. from The Ohio State University and a Master of Science in Public Heath – Epidemiology from the University of Washington.
